Romano is one of those trainers that does well at home but poorly at global tournaments. He and his younger brother are grandsons of one of the most famous trainers of his time and the family is eagerly hoping they will bring the Gagliardi name back to its former glory. Between the two of them, Romano is stronger than Feliciano, with him sitting at a higher ranking in the Italy, however the two of them are nearly equal in the global ranks and neither one of them are at the level their grandfather once was.

Romano could be a great trainer if he put in the effort, but he rarely feels like training. Much of his sour mood comes from living in the shadows of his more likeable younger brother and his once famous grandfather. Romano wants to run his own gym one day but he feels his goals are out of reach. He often struggles with finding the balance of becoming the trainer he wants to be, versus the trainer his family wants him to be.
