Oceané is a well-respected Gym Leader in her country. The gym has been in her family for three generations and were all run by women. Both her mother and grandmother served as her coaches and taught her how to properly care for Water-type Pokemon. When Oceané travels, both of them take care of the gym. Though she specializes in Water-types, she carries several other Pokemon that she uses strictly for tournaments only.

Oceané's first Pokemon was her Finneon (now a Lumineon), while her ace is her Gorebyss.
