Natalya is a budding and well-respected trainer in Belarus but is mostly unknown outside of Europe. The youngest among her siblings, her older brother and sister helped teach her their ways of battling. She later received training from some of the strongest trainers in Belarus and Russia to sharpen her skills, but her mentors have grown frustrated with her after she suddenly began focusing more on her hobbies instead. She enjoys living a private life in her tiny apartment in Minsk and keeps in close contact with her father. He was responsible for giving her first Pokemon, a shy Ralts (who is now a confidant and sassy Kirlia), but her stealthy Weavile serves as her ace. She primarily focuses on tournaments within Europe, but has done some tournaments in North America and Asia.

Natalya is not on speaking terms with her mother, who favoured Ivan over her and Iryna. She has a fractured relationship with her siblings and only keep in contact when it's necessary.
