Matthew is a trainer who built himself from the ground-up. Matthew has been participating in tournaments since he was 10 years old, and has never been coached by other trainers. His beginnings were difficult and he frequently lost battles. But the long hours of training he has put in over the years have paid off and today he's grown to be a powerful name, not just at home but globally as well. Matthew is among the few Canadians who have travelled across the country to compete in every league and won.

Matthew has a big heart and is always willing to help others with their training and give advice. Matthew is specialized trained in Ice-types but loves all types equally. He hopes to be part of the Elite Four or run his own gym where he can let his Ice-types shine and show off their skills. His first Pokemon was a Cubchoo and is now his ace as a Beartic.
