The middle child of his family, Ivan is the strongest between his siblings. He first got his start training under his older sister and later trained under Russia's brightest and strongest trainers. Ivan is well-respected and popular in his home country, first partaking in tournaments when he was just 10 years old. He ranks among the best at the Top 5 and is well-known globally, sitting among the Top 20.

Trainers are afraid to battle him as his battle style is classified as "reckless" but he takes pride in caring for all his Pokemon. He only teaches the strongest of attacks to his Pokemon while focusing little on defence. While he enjoys being among the best, a lot of pressure rests on his shoulders to keep his winning streak going. Many have high hopes for him that he'll take on the role of a Gym Leader or Elite Four member, but Ivan isn't quite sure if that's what he wants for himself. The money he receives from sponsors and as prizes are important to him for taking care of himself and his mother and the thought of losing that would devastate them both. Ivan's relationship with his sisters is very fractured for multiple reasons and the three of them rarely speak to each other unless it's neccessary.
