Elise is a trainer that many underestimate on. She has been battling since she was a child and has been sweeping the standings in her small country. She is well-respected in German-speaking countries but still remains virtually unknown outside those borders. Her friend Basch has served as her coach for years as she eagerly hopes to finally reach the top 100 in the global rankings.

Elise is skilled in both competitive battling and contests. The latter has been her priority for more than a decade, and it's where she is most recognized. When she retires from battling and contests, she wants to run her own daycare or work in a Pokemon school. Elise's ace is her Lilligant and she received it from her mother as her first Pokemon when it was a Petilil. Her Castform is the focus point in most of her contest routines as she uses its weather abilities to pair with the moves of her other Pokemon.
